Hydroseeding involves spraying a specialized mixture or “slurry” of water, grass seeds, mulch, fertilizer, and a binding material. The result is a cost-effective and efficient way to grow beautiful new grass or manage erosion. It’s not the immediate turf solution you can achieve with sod, but at a fraction of the cost it’s a very attractive option for property owners who can wait a little longer for a healthy green lawn. On average it takes approximately 1-2 weeks for new seeds to start germinating and the first cut is usually needed around 4 weeks. From there the grass seed will continue to establish itself into a thicker more luscious lawn.
